Holden Aboretum – Research Tour, 9550 Sperry Road, Kirtland, OH
Be sure to register and pay the $10 fee.
The Holden Arboretum is an incredible ecological resource in Northeast Ohio, covering 3,500 acres across Lake and Geauga counties, only 35-40 minutes from downtown Cleveland. Join us at the 67-acre Working Woods Learning Forest for three 45-minute tours about current efforts related to research (invasive plant management and beech leaf disease), forestry practices (single tree and group selection timber harvests), and conservation (wildlife habitat).
*This field trip does not include admission to the Holden Arboretum. If interested in visiting the core gardens and trails after the field trip tours conclude, a ticket can be purchased at the gatehouse.
9:30am-11:30am FIELD TRIP OPTION #2 (maximum enrollment: 20 people)
Mentor Lagoons Nature Preserve – Birding Hike
8365 Harbor Dr, Mentor, OH
Be sure to register and pay the $10 fee.
Just a half-hour drive from Cleveland lies Mentor Lagoons Nature Preserve in Mentor (Lake County), OH, a major birding hotspot. This property sits on the edge of Mentor Marsh, one of the largest natural marshes on the Lake Erie shoreline, and includes mature oak forests and shoreline dunes. This diversity of habitats has attracted over 260 resident and migrant bird species. Join local birders as we explore this property for an exciting morning of birding. Bring your binoculars or email a.corbett@csuohio.edu if you want to borrow a set (we have a limited # of pairs available).

** NOTE 1: Login is Required to Register
Login if you are an ESA member or create a new account if you are not an ESA member.
If you are logged in, completing the registration form, and seeing the wrong registration rate (i.e., non-member when you are a member who recently joined or renewed), this most likely means your ESA profile is not reflecting your current membership status with ESA. If you joined or renewed the same day you are registering, please try logging out and logging back in. If this does not resolve the issue, please email us at registrar@esa.org and we can look into this for you.
** NOTE 2: Registration Tips [Save/Update Responses] Button
To begin the registration process, click on [REGISTER MYSELF] and select the applicable registration type. Please note the [SAVE/UPDATE RESPONSES] button on the right side of the screen just before the section on Programs. You must click on the [SAVE RESPONSES] button BEFORE you Proceed to Checkout. If you see a message that you have missed some questions, return to the registration page, and enter your responses again and then click on [UPDATE RESPONSES].
