Field trip leaves from Paul Robeson Campus Center (350 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Newark, NJ) at 9 am and returns at 3 pm. There is no additional fee for participating in this field trip.
We will be visiting Liberty State Park and the New Jersey Meadowlands to explore the unique ecology and learn how the natural and anthropogenic history shaped the environment we see today. These places were selected not only because of their uniqueness but because a wide range of research has been conducted over the years at both parks. Both locations have views of the New York City skyline and will have opportunities to bird for those interested.
*** Please note that as lunch is not provided, we will stop at a local venue for food. Limited van seating is available, however participants may also provide their own transportation.
