Biodiversity for Business: Defining, Measuring & Reporting
Biodiversity for Business: Defining, Measuring, and Reporting on Biodiversity in a Changing Economic Landscape

April 29, 2026 | 2:00–3:00 PM ET

Businesses are under growing pressure to measure and disclose biodiversity impacts, yet unclear definitions and competing frameworks have created confusion about what is meaningful to measure and report. This seminar clarifies why biodiversity is measured in business, compares major reporting frameworks (e.g., GBF, TNFD, ESRS, SBTN), and examines the new ISO 17298 standard to highlight ecologically and economically relevant metrics and alignment across frameworks. Participants will leave with a clear understanding of key biodiversity reporting approaches, how to evaluate their strengths and limitations, and how scientists—especially ecologists—can engage in and shape biodiversity-related decision-making in the global economy.
